What the science says

Aloe vera juice — In research on creams, aloe vera extract raised the water content of the outermost skin layer compared with the same cream without aloe. [1]

Glycerin — A humectant that improves hydration of the outermost skin layer and helps maintain softness and suppleness. [2]

Jojoba — A liquid wax made of long-chain esters, widely used in moisturisers and sunscreens for skin feel and softness. [3]

The cited studies looked at aloe, glycerin and jojoba in general, not at these products. In all three, aloe leaf juice is the first ingredient, followed by glycerin and jojoba oil. Bidens pilosa extract is a plant extract used as an alternative to retinol: a different ingredient, not a copy. We quote no studies for it and claim no retinol-like results. Hyaluronic acids sit near the end of the lists, in small amounts.
