What the science says
Jojoba seed oil — Research on jojoba found that it is in fact a liquid wax made of long-chain esters, widely used in moisturisers for skin feel and softness. [1]
Glycerin — A well-studied humectant that draws water into the outermost skin layer, improving skin hydration and mechanical suppleness. [2]
The cited studies evaluated jojoba and glycerin across moisturizing formulas. In our cream, aloe juice, jojoba oil and glycerin occupy the top three places, supported by organic shea butter. Alteromonas ferment extract (the marine active mentioned on the carton) is located at position 31 of 38, after the fragrance, indicating a small cosmetic concentration; we do not attribute primary visible effects to it. Hyaluronic acid is likewise present in a modest amount.
