What the science says

Aloe vera leaf juice — In research on creams containing aloe, the water content of the outermost skin layer rose after 2 weeks compared with the same cream without aloe. [1]

Glycerin — Research on glycerin found it improves hydration of the outermost skin layer, the skin's moisture barrier and its softness and suppleness, and that it is especially helpful in dry, cold conditions. [2]

Jojoba seed oil — Research describes jojoba 'oil' as a liquid wax made of long-chain esters, widely used in moisturisers and sunscreens for skin feel and softness. [3]

The cited research looks at aloe, glycerin and jojoba in general, not at our eye serum. Bidens pilosa extract is at position 16, a plant-derived ingredient promoted as a retinol alternative; we quote no study for it and state no concentration. The hyaluronic acids sit near the end of the list, so they are small amounts. The pigment is a trace, after the fragrance, so the finish is subtle. The pack's words 'firms' and 'targets' are not claims we make.
