What the science says

Aloe vera — In vehicle-controlled research on topical creams, aloe vera extract helped increase the water content of the outermost skin layer compared with an unsupplemented base. [1]

Glycerin — A well-studied humectant that draws water into the outermost skin layer and helps maintain softness, suppleness and the skin's moisture barrier. [2]

Jojoba — A liquid wax made of long-chain esters, widely used in moisturisers and sunscreens for skin feel and softness. [3]

The cited studies on aloe, glycerin and jojoba tested specific formulations in controlled settings; in our moisturiser, aloe leaf juice is the primary base, glycerin sits second, and jojoba seed oil is third. Sodium hyaluronate and hydrolysed hyaluronic acid appear towards the end of the list (positions 18 and 23 of 23 ingredients) in small amounts alongside red algae extract; we make no anti-wrinkle claims for them.

Why is this moisturiser formulated fragrance free?

Fragrance and essential oils can cause sensitivity for delicate skin. This formula contains no added parfum, no essential oils and no colourants across its 23 ingredients.

Can it be worn under makeup?

Yes. The light texture absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy film or residue, allowing makeup to apply smoothly.

Can it be applied around the eyes?

The instructions recommend avoiding direct contact with the eyes. Apply gently over the face and neck.

What forms of hyaluronic acid are included?

The formula includes both sodium hyaluronate and hydrolysed hyaluronic acid, combined with sodium PCA and glycerin to hold hydration on the skin surface.
