What the science says
Kojic acid — In research on skin brightening, kojic acid slowed tyrosinase, the key enzyme involved in melanin formation, which is why it is used for a more even-looking skin tone. [1]
Glycerin — A humectant that draws water into the outermost skin layer, helping keep skin supple, comfortable and soft during and after exfoliating. [2]
The cited kojic acid research reviews how kojic acid acts on pigment formation in the lab and in cosmetics; in our formula it sits at position 11, right after the fragrance, in a rinse-off product, so we do not promise a visible change from a single use. Physical exfoliation comes from fine perlite mineral particles (position 14). Plant lipids (jojoba seed oil and shea butter, positions 9 and 15) and humectants (glycerin, betaine, sodium PCA) keep the skin supple so it does not feel stripped after rinsing. Ascorbyl palmitate and tocopherol (positions 18 and 19) are formula antioxidants that protect the plant oils: we do not claim vitamin C or E effects from them.

- Massage gently in small circular motions, then rinse thoroughly with water and pat dry.
- Use 2–3 times weekly, and always follow with daily sunscreen as kojic acid can increase sun sensitivity. Do not apply to broken or damaged skin.

Yes. The creamy formula with fine perlite particles is designed for both facial and body exfoliation.
