What the science says
Glycerin — A humectant that draws water into the outermost skin layer and helps keep skin soft and comfortable. Research on glycerin highlights its role in supporting the skin's moisture barrier. [1]
Aloe vera — In research on topical creams, aloe vera extract helped increase the water content of the outermost skin layer compared with an unsupplemented base. [2]
The cited aloe and glycerin studies tested specific concentrations in controlled vehicles; in our formula, aloe leaf juice is the primary base and glycerin sits second. Extracts of horse chestnut, ginkgo and grape leaf, as well as hyaluronic acid, appear after the fragrance in modest amounts. Cannabidiol (CBD) is included as a skin conditioning agent; we do not cite studies for it because independent cosmetic studies on the eye area are lacking.
