What the science says
Aloe vera — In research on creams containing aloe, the water content of the outermost skin layer rose after 2 weeks compared with the same cream without aloe. This is skin research, not hair research. [1]
Distearoylethyl dimonium chloride — In research on hair cosmetics, conditioning ingredients with a positive charge settle on the hair surface, smooth the cuticle and reduce friction and static, so hair detangles more easily and reflects more light. [2]
The cited aloe research is skin research and the hair-cosmetics review is general; neither tested our conditioner. Organic aloe juice is the first ingredient, with glycerin fourth and distearoylethyl dimonium chloride fifth. Argan oil (position 17), hydrolysed wheat protein (14), the guar derivative and the botanical extracts come after the fragrance, so they are small amounts and we make no claim for them. Tocopherol protects the plant oils.
