Rich conditioning care for dry, coarse lengths

A rich, creamy hair mask for dry, coarse or brittle-feeling lengths, blending conditioning agents, glycerin and plant oils to leave hair soft, supple and manageable.

Visible benefits

Shine & smoothness

  • A smooth, glossy feel — coconut oil coats the lengths.

Hair & lengths

  • Rich, creamy mask — leave it on for 5–10 minutes so the conditioning agents can soften the lengths.
  • Easier wet combing, softer lengths — a plant-derived conditioning agent.

Scalp

  • Helps loosen visible flakes and build-up — lactic acid (AHA) on the scalp.

What the science says

Cationic conditioning agents — In research on hair cosmetics, conditioning ingredients with a positive charge settle on the hair surface, smooth the cuticle and reduce friction and static, so hair detangles more easily and reflects more light. [1]

Emollients and humectants — Research on skin moisturisers found that emollients keep the skin smooth while humectants hydrate its outermost layer; results depend on the whole formula. This is skin research, not hair research. [2]

The cited research looks at hair conditioning ingredients in general and at skin moisturisers, not at this mask. In our mask distearoylethyl dimonium chloride and brassicyl isoleucinate esylate are at positions 4 and 9, with glycerin at position 5. Hydrolysed wheat protein (19), hydrolysed keratin (22), shea butter, evening primrose oil and sweet almond oil all come after the fragrance, so they are small amounts and we make no claim for them. Ascorbyl palmitate and tocopherol protect the oils.

These are published studies on the ingredients, not tests of this product. Study concentrations and formulas differ from ours; individual results vary.
