What the science says
Jojoba seed oil — Research describes jojoba 'oil' as a liquid wax made of long-chain esters, widely used in moisturisers and sunscreens for skin feel and softness. [1]
Emollient plant oils — Research on emollients found that they keep the skin smooth and help break the dry-skin cycle; results depend on the whole formula and on regular use. [2]
The cited research looks at jojoba and at emollients in general, not at our body oil. Here organic sunflower seed oil forms the light base, followed by sweet almond and jojoba oils. Rosehip and raspberry seed oils are at positions 7 and 8, and pumpkin seed oil comes after the fragrance, so we make no claim for them beyond adding to the blend. Tocopherol (vitamin E) at position 12 protects the oils from oxidation and is not a skin active.
