Therapium VELOURIS™ Smoothing Foundation — 05 Fair Neutral

The lightest of the ten shades, and neutral — the starting point of the range.

Organic aloe leaf juice heads the list, ahead of the oils. Kaolin and rice starch give the semi-matte finish and let the texture set on its own, so it does not need powdering over. Colour comes from mineral pigments — titanium dioxide and iron oxides — rather than synthetic dyes, and the load is high enough that a thin layer evens out the look of the complexion. Hexapeptide-11, two weights of hyaluronic acid and radish root ferment sit alongside them, with organic beeswax and lecithin holding the texture together.

Is this your shade?

Neutral means neither obviously pink nor obviously golden. If gold and silver jewellery both look fine on you, neutral is your column, and 05 is its fairest step. Nothing in the range is lighter — if 05 still reads too deep on you, we do not make one that fits, and we would rather say so.

• If you are between shades — go with 05. The formula is buildable, so a shade slightly too light closes the gap with a second thin layer; a shade too deep has nowhere to go.
• Give it twenty minutes. Foundation oxidises: over the first fifteen to thirty minutes many formulas shift a little darker and warmer as they meet skin oils and air. Judge it then, not in the first two.
• Pair it with Concealer 05 Light Cool — under the eye and on blemishes both, since nothing lighter exists.
• Next steps up — 10 Light Warm if your skin is golden, 15 Light Cool if it is pink.

How to use

1. Warm a small amount on the back of the hand.
2. Press it onto the centre of the face and blend outwards with fingers, a brush or a damp sponge.
3. Build a second thin layer where you want more coverage.
4. The texture sets by itself — powder over it only if you want a flatter finish.
