So what do curcuminoids and piperine actually do?
We are not allowed to tell you, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The EU Register of nutrition and health claims contains no authorised wording for turmeric, curcumin or piperine, so any sentence a seller writes about joints, digestion or inflammation is one the regulator has not approved.
What we can print is the number: 300 mg of curcuminoids and 10 mg of piperine per capsule.
Why is there both an extract and a powder?
Turmeric root dry extract at 37.6% of the capsule carries the standardised 300 mg of curcuminoids; turmeric root powder at 35.7% is the whole ground root alongside it. The label states both percentages separately rather than blending them into one figure.
Is 300 mg the whole capsule?
No. The 300 mg of curcuminoids sits inside 315.8 mg of turmeric root extract, which is one of three ingredient lines; the capsule also contains 300 mg of turmeric root powder and 10.5 mg of black pepper extract.
Why is there black pepper in a turmeric capsule?
Black pepper fruit extract is included at 1.3% of the capsule, standardised to 10 mg of piperine, printed as its own line. We state only the amount; the EU Register authorises no wording for piperine, so we say nothing about what it does.
Is it vegan?
Yes. The capsule shell is hydroxypropyl methylcellulose rather than gelatine, and nothing in the ingredient list comes from an animal. The product carries no allergen labelling under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011.
When should I take it?
Take one capsule daily with 250 ml of water. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose of one capsule.
Why does it say turmeric stains?
Because turmeric extract and powder are both intensely coloured, and the specification warns that the capsule contents can mark skin and fabric if a capsule is opened or crushed. Handle the capsules with dry hands and swallow them whole.
Why is it not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Because that is what the label states: not recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women. We print the warning as it stands; we do not soften it.
