So what does collagen actually do?
For collagen itself, we are not allowed to tell you, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The EU Register of nutrition and health claims contains no authorised wording for collagen, so any sentence a seller writes about skin, joints or hair is one the regulator has not approved.
What we can print is a number and one authorised sentence: 15 g of collagen hydrolysate per scoop, 90% of it protein by weight — and protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass.
Is this fish or bovine collagen?
Bovine. The ingredient line names it plainly: 100% collagen hydrolysate powder (beef). If you are looking for a fish-derived collagen instead, we sell that separately as Marine Collagen Peptides, in capsules.
Why is there no percentage next to the amount?
Because collagen hydrolysate is not a vitamin or mineral with a nutrient reference value under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011. The label prints the grams and the protein content per 100 g, and nothing else next to them.
Is it vegan?
No. This is bovine (beef) collagen hydrolysate — the ingredient list has one line, and it names the animal source. There is no vegan collagen; if you want a plant-based protein, this is not that product.
How do I measure 15 g without a scale?
The label gives it as about six heaped 5 ml measuring spoons into 250 ml of water. A kitchen scale is more exact if you have one — 15 g is easy to overshoot by eye.
When should I take it?
