What the research says
Two narrative reviews describe the composition of these botanicals; no human study is presented here. Milk thistle seed extract contains silymarin, a complex of at least seven flavonolignans and one flavonoid that makes up roughly 65–80% of the extract; silibinin is a 1:1 mixture of silybin A and B derived from it (Kroll et al., 2007). The milk thistle extract in this product is standardised to 80% silymarin. Taraxacum species contain sesquiterpene lactones, triterpenoids such as taraxasterol, and phenolic compounds including chlorogenic and chicoric acids; the authors note that human studies on Taraxacum products are still scarce (Sharifi-Rad et al., 2018). A third review (Ben Salem et al., 2015) is cited only to identify artichoke (Cynara scolymus) leaf extract as the botanical used, and states that research is not yet conclusive.
