Organic aloe leaf juice base — In research on skin hydration, creams containing aloe vera increased the water content of the outermost skin layer compared with the same cream without aloe. [1]

Coconut-derived cleansers — A shampoo's cleansing agents lift oil and dirt from the scalp and hair. [2]

The cited research looked at aloe in leave-on skin creams and at shampoo cleansers in general, not at this shampoo. Here, organic aloe leaf juice is the first ingredient, followed by mild coconut-derived cleansers. Black tea and blueberry extracts and wheat protein sit after the fragrance, so they are small amounts and we claim no visible effect from them.
