On the label

What one tablet contains

Two lines are printed on the label per tablet: the iron and the vitamin C next to it. One tablet is the daily dose.

  1. Iron

    14 mg 100 %

    Form: bisglycinate

Also found in: red meat, lentils, tofu, spinach

Iron contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

  2. Vitamin C

    40 mg 50 %

    Form: L-ascorbic acid

Also found in: oranges, peppers, strawberries, kiwi

    Vitamin C increases iron absorption.

* NRV = nutrient reference value under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011.

The course

What 120 days look like

One tablet a day, 120 in the bottle. Here is what you do and what you can count along the way — arithmetic, not promises.

  1. Day 1

One tablet, 250 ml of water

Any regular time each day you can keep. Write down the lot from the base of the bottle; that is what identifies your bottle if you ever write to us.

  2. Days 2–60

    Same tablet, same time

Sixty tablets gone, sixty left, half the bottle. Each one carries 14 mg of iron at the full reference value; iron contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

  3. Days 61–120

The second half of the bottle

The bottle empties on day 120. Vitamin C increases iron absorption — that is the authorised wording for the 40 mg next to the iron in each tablet.

A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Do not take iron supplements unless advised to do so. Keep well out of the reach of children — accidental overdose of iron-containing products is dangerous for young children. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical supervision, consult your doctor before use.

Questions

The questions people actually ask

Short answers with the numbers in them. If what you need is not here, ask us before you buy rather than after.

Answers refer to the batch named in them. The codes printed on the bottle you receive are the ones that count.

Why iron as bisglycinate?

Because it is the form usually chosen when the cheaper sulphate sits badly. Iron bisglycinate is iron bound to glycine, and the label describes the tablet as gentle on the stomach.

Both forms provide iron; the difference the label makes is about tolerability, not about the effect the EU Register authorises us to state.

Why is there vitamin C in an iron tablet?

Because vitamin C increases iron absorption, and the EU Register allows this wording for any food that is at least a source of vitamin C — 15 % of the reference value per daily dose. This tablet carries 40 mg, 50 % of the reference value, well above that bar.

Is 14 mg of iron enough?

14 mg is 100 % of the reference value for iron under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 — the full daily figure in one tablet, not a fraction of it.

Can children take this?

No. Keep it well out of the reach of children — accidental overdose of iron-containing products is dangerous for young children, and this is stated plainly because it matters, not as a formality.

Is it vegan?

Yes. The tablet is bulking agents (microcrystalline cellulose, dicalcium phosphate), iron bisglycinate, L-ascorbic acid and an anti-caking agent (magnesium salts of fatty acids) — nothing in the list comes from an animal.

Do you have a lab report for this batch?

Not at the moment. We do not invent a laboratory or a report number for a document we do not hold. What is verified is what is printed on the bottle itself: the ingredient list, the nutrition table, and the batch number and best-before date on the base.

How do I know the bottle I receive is the real thing?

Check the codes: EAN 4262487491009, SKU CTB-IRONVC-01, sold by Therapium Ltd, 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ, as printed on the label. If what is printed on your bottle does not match what is printed here, tell us and do not use it.

When should I take it?

One tablet a day with 250 ml of water, at whatever time you will actually keep. The label sets no particular hour. Do not exceed one tablet a day.

Can I take it alongside another iron supplement or a multivitamin?

Do not take iron supplements unless advised to do so, and check what else you already take for iron before adding this one. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical supervision, consult your doctor before use.

How should it be stored?

Closed, dry, cool and away from direct light. Keep well out of the reach of children.

What if it is not for me?

Send it back within 60 days and we refund it — that is the return policy printed at the top of every page.
