What makes this different from standard whey protein?
This formula uses whey protein isolate at 96.2 % of the powder, formulated to mix clear in water with flavouring and under 0.1 g of fat per 30 g daily serving.
What exactly are the three claims about protein based on?
On being a source of protein. One 30 g scoop is 105 kcal, and the 24.7 g of protein in it is about 94 % of that energy — far above the 12 % of energy the EU sets as the threshold for a food to be a 'source of protein'. Once that threshold is met, three sentences are authorised. Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass. Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass. Protein contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.

Is it vegan or vegetarian?
No. Whey protein isolate comes from milk, so this powder is vegetarian but not vegan.
Does it contain gluten?
Yes — the colour comes from barley malt extract, which is a gluten source. The label declares it, and the product is not suitable for coeliac disease.
Can I mix it with milk instead of water?
The directions on the label call for 500 ml of water. We have no label evidence for how the powder behaves mixed with milk, so we are not going to guess — water is what is printed and tested.
What sweetens it?
