So what does chondroitin actually do?

We are not allowed to tell you, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The EU Register of nutrition and health claims contains no authorised wording for chondroitin, so any sentence a seller writes about joints, cartilage or mobility is one the regulator has not approved.

What we can print is the number: 1,000 mg of chondroitin sulfate per daily dose of two capsules.

Why is it sourced from cattle and not shellfish?

The label states the chondroitin sulfate is bovine and halal compliant. That also means no crustacean allergen, which is the more common source for chondroitin elsewhere in the category.

What does ‘the other half of the pair’ mean on the label?

Chondroitin is usually sold next to glucosamine, and the label prints that line as a reminder: Therapium also sells ARTIVIS Glucosamine separately, on the same shelf and the same daily schedule. The two are not bundled automatically — each jar is its own product.

Is it vegan or vegetarian?

Neither, strictly: the chondroitin sulfate itself is bovine. The capsule shell is vegetarian — hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, no gelatine — but the active ingredient comes from cattle.

When should I take it?
