Why bisglycinate and not zinc sulfate or oxide?
Bisglycinate is zinc bound to glycine, a chelated form — the label names it in full, next to the 25 mg amount. Sulfate and oxide are the cheaper, more common forms; the label lets you check which one you are actually buying.
What do 'immunity, skin, cell defence' on the label mean?
Those three words point at three of the effects the EU Register authorises for zinc at this dose. Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system. Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal skin. Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress — the label's own shorthand for the third one.
Is 25 mg too much zinc?
One tablet is the recommended daily intake printed on the label, and it must not be exceeded. The label also asks you not to take any other food supplement containing zinc alongside this one.
