What the science says

Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide — Research on mineral UV filters indicates that zinc oxide and titanium dioxide remain on the skin's surface without absorbing: zinc oxide provides coverage across the UVA spectrum, titanium dioxide covers UVB, and together they offer broad-spectrum mineral protection. [1]

Rice bran oil, plant waxes and emollients — Research on moisturisers found that emollients keep the skin smooth and break the dry-skin cycle; results depend on the whole formula. [2]

The cited research describes mineral UV filters in general: zinc oxide sits at position 1 and titanium dioxide at position 6 of this stick. Rice bran oil and the plant waxes form the solid stick. Sea buckthorn and black cumin oils (positions 17 and 18) are small amounts after the fragrance and we claim no effect from them. Sunscreen does not give 100% protection; reapply regularly.
