Therapium SERICA™ Silk Body Serum — Spices & Sandalwood
Body serum · organic jojoba and rosehip oils with sodium hyaluronate · 270 ml, body only
The brighter of the two scents — a body serum rather than a body lotion, finished with warm spices and sandalwood.
It reads like a face formula scaled up to body size: organic jojoba seed oil and organic rosehip fruit oil for softness, sodium hyaluronate, betaine and sodium PCA to hold water in the surface, plus organic watercress and organic ginkgo leaf extracts. Coconut alkanes give it the dry, silky slip that lets it disappear in seconds. The scent stays close to the skin — juniper, atlas cedar and patchouli with lavender behind them.
Which of the two scents — and what differs on the label
Both serums share one formula. Only the fragrance changes, and the fragrance decides which allergens have to be declared:
- Spices & Sandalwood — this one. Declared: Linalyl Acetate, Beta-Caryophyllene, Pinene, Limonene, Linalool, with juniper, cedar, patchouli and lavender oils. It carries limonene and lavender oil, and no coumarin.
- Woody Amber & Leather — declared: Vanillin, Linalyl Acetate, Linalool, Coumarin. That one carries coumarin, which this one does not.
Worth knowing if you are comparing across the range: neither body serum contains benzyl alcohol, and both hand creams do. If benzyl alcohol is what you react to, the serum works for you where the matching hand cream does not.
Serum, not lotion
The difference is real rather than a naming choice. A lotion is an emulsion built to sit and slowly sink; this is thinner, absorbs in seconds and leaves a dry finish, which is why you can dress straight afterwards. What it does not do is seal as heavily as a rich cream — on genuinely rough skin, a urea cream does more.
How to use
- Smooth over clean skin after showering.
- It absorbs in seconds — no need to wait before dressing.
- Layer the matching hand cream on hands and forearms.
