What the science says
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) — In a split-face study of 5% niacinamide against a vehicle, the niacinamide side showed less of the look of fine lines, dark spots, red blotchiness and sallowness, and better elasticity. In lab models niacinamide reduced pigment transfer to the surface skin layers, and on the face dark spots looked lighter after 4 weeks. [1][2]
Glycerin — Research on glycerin found it improves hydration of the outermost skin layer, the skin's moisture barrier and its softness and suppleness. [3]
The cited niacinamide studies used 5% (and, in one study, 2%) niacinamide in their own formulas; ours lists niacinamide third of 13 ingredients and the pack prints 5%. We quote no study on pores and do not claim pore shrinkage, only a smoother, fresher-looking surface. Alcohol is second, which gives the quick-drying, weightless finish. Ginkgo leaf extract comes after the fragrance, so it is a small amount.
