What the science says
Aloe vera — In research on creams containing aloe, the water content of the outermost skin layer rose compared with the same cream without aloe. [1]
Glycerin — Research on glycerin found it improves hydration of the outermost skin layer, the skin's moisture barrier and its softness and suppleness. [2]
The cited aloe and glycerin studies evaluated moisturising formulas; in our micellar water, organic aloe leaf juice forms the liquid base (position 1) and glycerin sits third alongside gentle glucoside cleansers. Sodium hyaluronate appears at position 14 in a small amount. Lactic acid is included to adjust pH, not as an exfoliating acid.
