What it does

What the science says
Aloe vera — After 2 weeks, creams with aloe raised the water content of the outermost skin layer compared with the same cream without aloe. [1]
Glycerin — A humectant that draws water into the outermost skin layer, helping keep skin soft, supple and comfortable. [2]
Hyaluronic acid — Research on creams with hyaluronic acid found improved skin hydration and elasticity versus the base cream. [3]
The aloe study used creams with 0.1%, 0.25% or 0.5% freeze-dried aloe extract and the hyaluronic acid study used 0.1% creams; we do not know how our levels compare. Organic aloe juice is the first ingredient and glycerin the third; hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate are ingredients 20 and 21, after the fragrance, in small amounts. Jojoba seed oil, ingredient 2, adds emollient softness. Ascorbyl palmitate and tocopherol protect the oils; we do not claim vitamin C or E effects from them.
