What the science says
Panthenol (provitamin B5) — Research on topical dexpanthenol (panthenol) demonstrated that it helps the skin's outermost layer retain more moisture and lowers water loss compared with a control base. [1]
Glycerin — A well-researched humectant that draws water into the surface skin layers, supporting moisture barrier function and improving skin suppleness. [2]
The cited studies evaluated panthenol and glycerin in controlled topical creams. In our single-use patches, glycerin and panthenol sit prominently in the top five ingredients of the hydrogel serum. Cherimoya fruit extract and rooibos leaf extract are botanical conditioning ingredients; we do not quote human studies for them as independent trial data are not available in our library. Sodium hyaluronate is included at position 12 in a modest amount.
