Therapium VELOURIS™ Smoothing Foundation — 50 Deep Cool

The deepest of the ten shades, and cool — where the range ends.

Organic aloe leaf juice heads the list, ahead of the oils. Kaolin and rice starch give the semi-matte finish and let the texture set on its own, so it does not need powdering over. Colour comes from mineral pigments — titanium dioxide and iron oxides — rather than synthetic dyes, and the load is high enough that a thin layer evens out the look of the complexion. Hexapeptide-11, two weights of hyaluronic acid and radish root ferment sit alongside them, with organic beeswax and lecithin holding the texture together.

Is this your shade?

Cool at the deepest step — blue or red-violet undertones rather than golden. It is one of only two cool shades in the range, the other being 15 at the light end, and nothing in the range is deeper. If 50 still reads too light on you, we do not make one that fits, and we would rather say so than sell you a compromise.

• Flash photography. Titanium dioxide reflects camera flash efficiently and the effect is at its most visible here. It is a property of mineral pigment rather than a shade error — less product on the high points, and no titanium-heavy powder over the top.
• Concealer note, honestly. Our concealer stops at 35 Deep Neutral. 35 is the closest we make at this depth, and it is neutral rather than cool — a close fit, not a match. Worth knowing before you order.
• Undertone beats depth. A shade half a step off in depth reads as a bit of colour; a shade in the wrong undertone reads as grey or orange, and at this depth everyone can see it.
• The step below — 45 Deep Warm and 40 Deep Neutral.

How to use

1. Warm a small amount on the back of the hand.
2. Press it onto the centre of the face and blend outwards with fingers, a brush or a damp sponge.
3. Build a second thin layer where you want more coverage.
4. The texture sets by itself — powder over it only if you want a flatter finish.
