What the science says
Hyaluronic acid, two forms — A water-binding molecule that holds moisture in the surface skin layers. Research on topical hyaluronic acid found improvements in skin hydration and elasticity, softening the look of fine lines. [1]
Glycerin — A humectant that draws water into the outermost skin layer and helps keep skin soft and supple, supporting the skin's moisture barrier. [2]
Sodium PCA — A natural component of the skin's natural moisturising factor (NMF), which helps the surface layers bind water and maintain comfort. [3]
The cited hyaluronic acid study tested 0.1% creams around the eyes twice daily; in our serum, hydrolysed hyaluronic acid (position 11) and sodium hyaluronate (position 17) sit after the fragrance, so they are present in small amounts and we do not promise the same results. Most of the surface hydration comes from glycerin (position 2) and sodium PCA (position 8). Ascorbyl palmitate appears near the end as an antioxidant protecting the plant oils, not as a vitamin C active.
