What the science says
Glycerin — A humectant that draws water into the outermost skin layer, supporting the skin's moisture barrier and keeping it soft and comfortable. [1]
Sodium PCA — A component of the skin's natural moisturising factor (NMF), the mix of small water-binding molecules that helps the outer skin layer hold water; when hydration drops, skin turns dry and flaky. [2]
The cited studies evaluated humectants in controlled vehicles; in our formula, glycerin sits second and sodium PCA sits eighth. Organic argan kernel oil provides light emollience without a heavy feel. Zinc PCA is included as a skin-conditioning agent — we do not promise oil control from it as independent single-ingredient studies are lacking. Botanical extracts (mate leaf, Iceland moss, juniper callus) and hyaluronic acid appear in small amounts (positions 17–28). Ascorbyl palmitate and tocopherol act as formula antioxidants.
