What the science says

Jojoba seed oil — Research on jojoba reveals it is technically a liquid wax composed of long-chain esters, widely used in cosmetics to soften skin and provide smooth skin feel. [1]

Emollient plant oils — Research on moisturisers found that emollients keep the skin smooth and help break the dry-skin cycle. Results depend on the whole formula and on regular use. [2]

The cited research looks at emollients and jojoba wax in general, not at our oil. In our blend, organic jojoba is the first ingredient, followed by sweet almond oil, with rosehip extract and sea buckthorn oil in the first seven. Tocopherol (vitamin E) sits at position 9, after the fragrance: it works as an antioxidant to protect the plant oils from oxidation, not as a skin active.
