Therapium VELOURIS™ Smoothing Foundation — 25 Medium Warm

A medium shade with a golden cast — the widest-fitting shade in the range for olive skin.

Organic aloe leaf juice heads the list, ahead of the oils. Kaolin and rice starch give the semi-matte finish and let the texture set on its own, so it does not need powdering over. Colour comes from mineral pigments — titanium dioxide and iron oxides — rather than synthetic dyes, and the load is high enough that a thin layer evens out the look of the complexion. Hexapeptide-11, two weights of hyaluronic acid and radish root ferment sit alongside them, with organic beeswax and lecithin holding the texture together.

Is this your shade?

Warm at medium depth. Olive skin — which has a green-grey cast that neither "warm" nor "cool" describes well — usually does better here than in the cool column, because a foundation that is too pink turns visibly ashy on it. As a rule, if a shade looks slightly too yellow in the bottle, it often looks correct on olive skin.

• If you are between shades — take the lighter one, and let the second layer do the work.
• Match to your neck rather than your face if the two differ. The neck is what everyone sees the face against.
• Pair it with Concealer 15 Medium Cool under the eye — a pink cast does more against a tired under-eye than a golden one — and 25 Medium Neutral on blemishes.
• Either side — 20 Medium Neutral is lighter and neutral, 35 Tan Warm is the next step up in warm.

How to use

1. Warm a small amount on the back of the hand.
2. Press it onto the centre of the face and blend outwards with fingers, a brush or a damp sponge.
3. Build a second thin layer where you want more coverage.
4. The texture sets by itself — powder over it only if you want a flatter finish.
