So what do milk thistle, artichoke and dandelion actually do?
We are not allowed to tell you, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Health claims for botanicals like these are still on hold under EU Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 — none has been authorised, positively or negatively, so no seller may legally print a sentence about what any of the three does.
What we can print are the numbers: 250 mg of milk thistle extract standardised to 200 mg of silymarin, 200 mg of artichoke leaf extract standardised to 5 mg of cynarin, and 50 mg of dandelion root extract standardised to 1 mg of inulin, all in one capsule a day.
Why these three plants together?
Milk thistle seed, artichoke leaf and dandelion root are the classic bitter trio of European herbalism — a historical pairing, not a claim. What differs between products is how much of each is actually inside, which is why every percentage above is standardised and printed rather than left as a vague blend.
Does the label say anything about pregnancy or breastfeeding?
