Matching it to your foundation
For covering blemishes and redness, take the concealer at the same depth as your foundation — the point is to disappear, not to brighten.
For the under-eye area, one step lighter is the usual choice. Going more than one step lighter is where the grey, ashy look comes from, particularly on deeper skin.
